In this comedy drama film, the Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, one of the best actors and actresses of all time, are going to have a wonderful reunion in a dramatic comedy which tells about how the hard knocks from today’s recession inspire and encourage one everyday guy to undergo a personal reinvention after failing, and that guy is no other than Larry Crowne.
Larry Crowne, role played by Tom Hanks himself, is a former team leader of the big-box company where he has worked at since the time when he was still in the Navy. He was a superstar then, very friendly, approachable, pleasant and amiable, not until the day when he was downsized. Not knowing what to do with the days that he was suddenly free, Larry decided that he needs to start all over again, and he can only do that when he goes back to College. Since he was already old enough to most of his regular classmates, he immediately belonged to the group of outcasts and a group of people who overlooked all trying to find a better future for themselves. All of a sudden, during their public-speaking class, Larry later realized that he is starting to develop a crush on his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), who has lost as much passion for teaching as she has for her husband. See how their love story goes and see how Larry Crowne copes up with his failures in life through the help of his new-found friends and teacher Mercedes.
